FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much time do you need to set up?
Ideally we like to allow at least 2 hours to set-up our equipment but we do realise that this is not always possible, please advise when booking if there are any time restrictions. If PA is provided and we are only supplying back line then we would allow 1 hour.

We often work at venues such as The Natural History Museum, Blenheim Palace & Highclere Castle that have a very quick turnaround time between closing to the public and the start of private functions, this is not a problem for us as long as we have been advised in advance.
 

How much room do you need?
This varies greatly and is dependant on the size of band that you have booked.  Ideally we would like the following performance spaces but we do appreciate that this is not always possible and we will always try to work with the space available. If you have any restrictions then please let us know.

5/6/7 piece band - 5 x 3m performance space
8/9/10 piece band - 8 x 4m performance space

If a stage is being supplied this must be of sound construction.
 

What are your power requirements?
We require a safe & constant 240v AC supply with a minimum of 2 x 13 amp sockets that are easily accessible from the stage.
 

Our venue has asked if you have Public Liability Insurance, can you supply this?
Many of the venues that we play at require full Health & Safety paperwork. We have a £5 million PLI policy and we can provide both a Risk Assessment and a Method Statement if needed.
 

How long do you play for?
We can play for anything up to 2.5 hours which can be split into 2 or 3 sets depending on your event schedule. In our breaks we play special High Time DJ mixes of popular dance tracks so that the music throughout the evening is seamless. Alternatively you can supply us with an ipod mix of your favourite songs that we will happily play for you.
 

Can we request the music that you play at my event?
We are happy to liaise with you about your particular musical tastes but we have carefully chosen our play list for one reason only - to keep your dance floor full. If you have a special request that is not on our play list, for a first dance or a special song, then please let us know in advance and we will be only too happy to learn it for your event. Please bear in mind that we also have to accommodate requests for all of our other events so we are unable to accommodate more than one or two requests. However, we are adding to our play list all of the time so please ask if you have a number of particular favourites in mind.
 

Can we meet before the event?
Largely all of your event enquiries can be answered via email and telephone but a meeting can be arranged if the production schedule demands it. We are familiar with a great many venues and are happy to liaise with the event team at your venue to ensure the smooth running of your event.
 

I have been advised that there is a noise limiter, is this a problem?
We have played in many venues that have noise limiters and this has never been a problem, we are happy to keep the volume at the level required.
 

Can you provide background music/ reception entertainment?
We can provide a pianist or Jazz duo or trio for your reception or during dinner. This will incur an extra fee but as we are already on site this is a much more cost effective solution. Our musicians are extremely versatile and regularly play cocktail music and Jazz at The Savoy, Somerset House and most of the major venues in London.
 

What should we, as a client, provide?
To ensure that the event runs smoothly we do like to have a contact to liaise with throughout the event. We also require a secure, lockable, changing area that we can use throughout the event and request that a hot meal and refreshments are provided. Full details can be discussed at the time of booking.
